Less than ten days from the Ligue 1 restart, the pre-season goes on at the Stade Rennais, with a second summer camp in Ouistreham (Normandy). At the end of this short, 3 days long training camp, the “Rouge et Noir” will play their final friendly game against Caen, this Saturday.
After a narrow victory over Legia Warsaw, the professional squad has taken the direction Ouistreham, Normandy, to bring the final touch to their preparation before Ligue 1 restarts.
During this week-end, Frédéric Antonetti’s men will go through two training sessions a day before playing their last summer friendly against Caen, this Staurday at the stade municipal de Ouistreham (19:00)
Injured, Camara, Jirès Kembo-Ekoko (hamstring), Sylvain Marveaux and Alexander Tettey (thigh) were still going through specific training at the beginning of this week. Samuel Souprayen could joint hem after he went out injured against Legia Warsaw. As for Onyekachi Apam and Asamoah Gyan, they’re going through physical preparation, and it is already certain not be ready for the game against Lille, on August 7th.
Besides, Bira Dembélé & Prince Oniangue were not included in Frédéric Antonetti’s squad yesterday for the friendly game against Legia Varsovie. The two young players from the Academy were at the Val-Saint-Père with Laurent Huard’s reserve for a pre-season game against Granville (1-0 victory, with a goal from Quentin Rouger).
Rennes is thought to be eagerly looking for a solution for Dembélé and Oniangue, as Antonetti isn’t considering them as part of his tactics for next season. Not forgetting Cheick N’Diaye, also excluded from the Corsican coach’s squad against the Polish team. A loan could be considered for the Senegal international within the coming weeks.
