Friendly Game: Rennes draws against Caen

A week before the Ligue 1 kick-off against Lille, the Stade Rennais was held to a draw by Caen (1-1) for their final preparation friendly. Rennes scored first through Bangoura (34’), butCaen replied only 5 minutes later with a goal by El Arabi (39’). For this final test, Antonetti had decided to leave M’Vila and Montaño (banned for the first Ligue 1 game) on the bench. Souprayen, injured against Warsaw on Wednesday, was rested and left on the bench for this game.

Caen - Stade Rennais : The final warm-up

This Saturday (19:00), Stade Rennais will play their final pre-season friendly against Caen, in Ouistreham. For this final rehearsal, the “Rouge et Noir” will have to show much more than they did last Wednesday against Legia Warsaw.

For their penultimate preparation game to the 2010-2011 season, Rennes won on their Route de Lorient pitch against the Legia Warsaw (1-0). A success snatched in the second half through a penalty by Leroy (75’) after a foul on Montaño.

After two consecutive defeats, the Stade Rennais hosts Polish side Legia Warsaw this Wednesday (18h00) at the Stade de la Route de Lorient. Looking for confidence, Frédéric Antonetti’s men need to come back to the winning ways just a few days from Ligue 1 restarting. A game to follow live on Stade Rennais Online (French only).

Friendly: Rennes lose to Lorient (2-1)

After a defeat against Brest last Wednesday (0-1), Stade Rennais lost again in a friendly game against another Brittany team, the FC Lorient this Saturday (2-1). Losing 2-0 at half-time after two goals from Ecuele Manga (37’) et Gameiro (39’, on penalty kick), Rennes will wait the end of the second half-time to score with Brahimi (90’). Despite an increase in the level of aggressiveness, the score will remain the same during the 30 minute extra time period.

After the defeat against Brest in the last friendly, Frédéric Antonetti is in doubt. The Stade Rennais manager is convinced his team won’t be at its full potential for the restart of the Ligue 1 season. Mainly because of recurrent problems in front of the goals, but also due to the absence of several player.

Rennes has been defeated by Brest (0-1) Wednesday evening, for their third pre-season friendly. A game in which Antonetti could try a few changes to his usual starting line-up, with Dalmat – a new signing – and Brahimi included in the starting eleven. The attacking line was composed of Bangoura, Montaño & Marveaux.

After a first success against Laval (3-0), the Stade Rennais will meet Brest this Wednesday at the Stade Municipal, Combourg (18:30). Less than three weeks before the Ligue 1 restarts, the “Rouge et Noir” are expected to confirm their improvement.

Following a draw against Nantes on Wednesday (1-1), The Stade Rennais won their second friendly in this 2010-2011 pre-season. A success built in the second half with a completely changed team, thanks to a brace of goals from Badiane (46’,53’) on two assists from Camara, and a third goal by Bangoura (85’)

Friendly : Nantes hold Rennes to draw (1-1)

In their first friendly of the 2010-2011 pre-season, the Stade Rennais drew against Nantes (1-1). Trailing after a goal by Djordjevic (11’), Rennes grabbed a late equaliser through Tongo Hamed Doumbia (84’). In this game, Frédéric Antonetti could get a full view of his squad, with a completely different squad in each half.

Stade Rennais - Nantes : Here we meet again...

This Wednesday (18h30), Rennes will play its first friendly game against the FC Nantes, in Carnac. The Derby will be a first return to the pitch for Frédéric Antonetti's squad after three weeks of intensive physical work. An encounter far from lacking of interest.
