Ligue 1, Stade rennais - Nancy, Saturday, 9:00 PM CET After three months recovering, Yacine Brahimi is back in the squad for Ligue 1’s penultimate game week. Kévin Théophile-Catherine isn’t ready yet.
Considering his performances earlier this year, the return of Yacine Brahimi is the good news of this week. Stade Rennes’ unpredictable winger, recovered of his thigh injury, is included in the squad called by Frédéric Antonetti for the home game against AS Nancy-Lorraine, on Saturday evening at the Route de Lorient.
The U21 international will probably not be fit enough to start the game, but he should come in during the game.
However, Kévin Théophile-Catherine will not be facing the players from Lorraine. The Rennes full back, who came back to full training in the middle of the week, remains out of fitness. His return from injury seems to prepare a return against Lille next week, however.
Except Brahimi’s return, no other change is to note compared to the squad that went to win in Saint-Etienne last week-end. In terms of numbers, youngster Frank Julienne pays for the return of the French-Algerian and returns to the reserve. Tongo Doumbia and Alexander Tettey are still nursing thigh injuries.
In Nancy, two players are missing. Striker Paul Alo’o Efoulou is suffering with an Achilles injury while defender Jordan Lotiès is suspended.
Goalkeeper Gennaro Bracigliano, a long term injuree, returns as well as Reynald Lemaître, suspended last week-end. Last to return, Samba Diakité has fully recovered from a calf injury.
