Ligue 1, Montpellier - Stade rennais, Saturday, 19:00 CET. Finally able to relay on a nearly complete squad, Frédéric Antonetti had to make choices at the time of building his squad for the trip to Montpellier. While Kembo is left available for the Reserve team, Mangane and Brahimi are returning. John Verhoek and more importantly Stéphane Dalmat are the victims of this decision.
Since the season began, Frédéric Antonetti rarely had that many players available for a Ligue 1 game. With Yacine Brahimi, Jirès Kembo and Kader Mangane returning from injury, the Rennes manager was finally able to make some choices when building the squad that will face Montpellier, this Saturday at 19:00 CET.
To the contrary of Brahimi and Mangane, Kembo will not travel to Hérault. Missing since several weeks, he should be able to get some fitness this Sunday afternoon in the CFA Championship, with the Reserve hosting Romorantin at la Piverdière.
A game in which he could be featuring alongside two other regulars in the professional squad. Frédéric Antonetti has indeed decided to do without Dutchman John Verhoek, who already played ninety minutes with the Reserve in Lorient last Sunday.
More importantly, the Corsican manager has decided to take Stéphane Dalmat out of the squad. Unconvincing in Toulouse, the former Sochaux man had seen Fabien Lemoine take his place against Lens last week-end. This time, he is actually left out of the eighteen men squad. It remains to be seen whether he will also come to reinforce the Reserve this Sunday.
Finally, Jérôme Leroy, who missed training on Thursday before of pains in his knee, is included in the squad.
