Ligue 1, Stade rennais - Lyon, Saturday, 21:00 CET. The CNOSF has decided. Despite Stade Rennes’ arguments, the French Olympic Committee refused to back Rennes’ appeal and Kader Mangane will serve his one-match ban this Saturday. Frédéric Antonetti called a squad of eighteen players to take on Olympique Lyonnais, with youngster Jebbour to replace Kana-Biyik.
Early this evening, Frédéric Antonetti had announced a list of nineteen players, including Kader Mangane in the wait for the French Olympic Committee’s (CNOSF) decision to back or not their appeal to the LFP. A couple of hours later, the decision was announced. According to Ouest-France, the CNOSF’s advisor recommended that the Discipline Commission’s decision announced last week (a one match ban) should be applied, despite the Video commission’s advice. After Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik’s suspension, a completely renewed centre defence will start against Lyon this Saturday.
Consequently, just another change will be brought to the squad that travelled to Marseille last week-end, as Yassine Jebbour returns to the group to replace Kana-Biyik. Frédéric Antonetti decided to trust versatile defenders, rather than call the «unfavoured » Bira Dembélé.
In Lyon, Claude Puel also decided to call nineteen players, including Jérémy Toulalan, injured for the last two weeks.
The Lyon manager will have to without several key players however, with Aly Cissokho, Lisandro Lopez or Maxime Gonalons injured. Youngsters Clément Grenier and Timothée Kolodziejczak are banned for this game.
