The Professional Football League’s disciplinary commission took the decision to ban the Rennes captain for one game. A decision following the red card received last week-end by Mangane, for a rather unobvious foul.
The LFP’s video commission, gathering yesterday, had recommended the cancellation of the red card received by Kader Mangane against Montpellier last Saturday. An advice that followed the declarations of the club and its captain, who had been repeating since Saturday that Mr Moreira’s decision was “unfair”.
Eventually, the LFP’s discipline commission decided, on their side, to stick on Mr Moreira’s position, who decided not to consider his decision as a “mistake”, but rather as a “personal interpretation” of the action.
Kader Mangane will therefore be absent at the Vélodrome on Saturday evening, for the big game of this eleventh game week, as will Jérôme Leroy, banned for three yellow cards in less than ten games.
This confirmation is likely to receive a rather hostile reception from the “Rouge et Noir” and their observers, who were asking for clemency from the League.
