This Monday afternoon, the Rennes squad returned to training at la Piverdière. After a week and a half in holidays, Stade Rennes was one of the last clubs to end its winter break, some of them having return to training in the last days of December. A long break in order for the players to recover as much as possible after an exhausting first half of the season.
Two players were missing in the squad, John Boye and Jonathan Pitroipa. Excused, the two players were expected to join their team-mates today or Wednesday. The players called-up for the 2012 African Cup of Nations, which could be the case for the two aforementioned players, will leave Brittany after Saturday’s game against Nancy to join their respective national teams.
As last year the Rouge et Noir start the year with a training camp. A few days to get back in the rhythm of competition, during which the players will train at la Piverdière but stay at the domain of Cicé-Blossac, close to Bruz, until Wednesday morning.
