Asked about the remainder of Rennes’ winter transfer window, Pierre Dréossi affirmed that no scenario was to exclude for the month of January.

«Anything is possible, the general managed explained. it will depend a certain number of factors. We don’t need to recruit for the sake of recruiting, but according to possibilities and what will happen, they might be one more recruit at the back or at the front. At the moment, this is not the case”.

One of the two forwards announced for this month of January is still awaited. A striker “born in 1989 or 1990 and who could affirm himself if offered some playing time […], the bloke able to play ten, twelve games who has the talent”, as Frédéric Antonetti profiled him mid-november.

Talking to Ouest-France on December 24th, Dréossi announced the possible arrival of a “highly promising young player, who would sign in January but might join the club in June only”. It is possible therefore, that the future Rennes striker would not arrive in Brittany this winter. The possibility would remain to bring in a central defender who will have to be ready to play at his arrival, in order to parry for another extension of Onyekachi Apam’s unavailability.
