Stade Rennes officially announced this Monday, shortly after 7:00 pm, the recruitment of RC Lens’ Togolese international Razak Boukari.
After undergoing the medical successfully on Monday morning, the new Stade Rennes player signed a four and a half year for the Breton club before being presented to the media.
According to sports newspaper L’Équipe, the transfer fee paid by Rennes to Lens is finally in the area of four million euros.
Boukari, who gets the number 12 left by Rod Fanni, affirmed to the journalists that he had made his choice “a long time ago” , wishing to “bring [his] qualities ” to the team and to “blend quickly in the tactics”.
Meanwhile, Frédéric Antonetti and Pierre Dréossi showed their satisfaction to sign the young Togolese. "He is a player that had already attracted my attention when I was coaching Nice”, the coach explained, while underlining the areas his new player will have to work on, “in terms of calling for the ball” and in the regularity. As for Pierre Dréossi, he stressed the « big potential » of the Châteauroux trained player.
