Six players risk a suspension

27 September 2010 à 09h48

On Saturday evening against Nice, referee Mr. Lannoy gave three yellow cards to Stade Rennes players. The sanctions were not followed of any immediate consequence, but could have some importance in the future.

The three cautioned players, Romain Danzé, Jérôme Leroy and Yann M’Vila had all already received a yellow card since the beginning of the season. Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik, Jirès Kembo Ekoko and Victor Hugo Montaño were already in this situation.

There are now no less than six players, who could receive a ban at their next yellow card. Any yellow card received by one of these players against Toulouse on Sunday would be a blow to an already reduced squad.

With the international break causing a fifteen days pause in the League, all possible sanctions caused by Sunday’s game will indeed be applied for the following game in Lens. Georges Mandjeck is already certain to miss the game in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais (also read).
