Antonetti until 2013
Publié le 12 April 2011 à 22h30 byExpected since many weeks, Frédéric Antonetti’s contract extension with the Stade Rennais has been made official this Tuesday. The Corsican manager is now linked to the Breton club until 2013, a strong message sent to his squad.
Arrived at the Stade Rennais in June 2009, Frédéric Antonetti has decided to remain for the long term in his adoptive club. After a meeting with François Pinault and the members of the club’s board this Monday, the manager (and his staff) has extended the contract which now links him to Stade Rennes until June 2013.
An unsurprising signature, since the extension had been announced over the last few weeks, by Antonetti himself as well as by Pierre Dréossi or Patrick Le Lay.
This Tuesday, it is the club’s general manager who announced the news via a press release on the club’s official website, explaining the existence of a « pact » with the coach for the signature of this extension.
By all means the information comes to confirm that the policy of the Stade Rennais for the summer to come will be to keep as many players as possible on board, while reinforcing the squad with a few additional players. While Marveaux will leave the club, the situation of Douchez remains uncertain, and Mangane and M’Vila – amongst others – are most likely to receive numerous proposals during the transfer window.
In this aim, the perspective to see Frédéric Antonetti continue his work is a clear advantage for the work of the Rennes management. Highly esteemed by his players, the Corsican manager will try to build on the cycle launched this season, which should satisfy the key players of his team.
