Montaño and Verhoek strengthen Rennes’ attack

Frédéric Antonetti had never had so many attacking solutions since the end of August. The arrival of John Verhoek, in the squad for the first time, is matching the return from injury of Victor Hugo Montaño. In other words, the attacking line is complete.

At midfield, Georges Mandjeck is missing after his injury last week in the Coupe de France while Stéphane Dalmat returns. Tongo Hamed Doumbia is still suspended.

A slight change to the backline: Yassine Jebbour returns to the squad to replace John Boye, banned for two games after being dismissed during the reserve’s last game.

Two youngsters are paying for these returns and the Dutch striker’s arrival: Gaëtan Caro and Frank Julienne, both involved in the trip to Lyon last week, are coming out of the squad.

Despite the unavailability of four players (Apam, Doumbia, Mandjeck and Marveaux), Frédéric Antonetti is now at the head of a better prepared group to take on Sochaux.
