Pierrick Hiard
Publié le 17 July 2002 à 00h33 byAn historical figure of the Stade Rennais, this pure-bred Rennes man made his way as one of the best goalkeepers to ever play for the club. Winner in the 1973 Gambardella Cup, along with Jean-Luc Arribart and Christian Gourcuff, he quickly became the first choice as a keeper in the professional team. The team’s financial difficulties force him to leave for Bastia, where he won a Coupe de France, made his way to the UEFA Cup final and received his first and only cap with France. Back in Rennes, he remains with the club in first and second division, before eventually retiring in 1992. Since, he has been employed as a goalkeepers coach for several years before being replaced by Christophe Lollichon in 2003. He then went on to supervise the recruitment team.
