Transfers: all done for Diallo?
Publié le 6 January 2012 à 21h17 Stade Rennais OnlineHesitating between Lorient and Rennes, young Bastia player Sadio Diallo seems to have finally chosen the second option. Although he had said to France Football, earlier this week, that he « really wanted to join » Lorient, the Guinean international, SC Bastia and Stade Rennes finally found an agreement, according to the same magazine and to L’Équipe.
According to the different sources, the transfer fee would be comprised between 3 and 4 million euros, for a player who attracted much attention and had two and a half years left on his contract with Bastia. If the agreement was to be confirmed and if the player indeed signs in Rennes, he should only arrive at the beginning of the 2012-2013 season. Until then, he should remain in Corsica in a six month loan, a wish expressed by current Bastia manager Frédéric Hantz. According to France Football, the Corsican club also negotiated a percentage of a possible resale.
Aged 21, the attacking midfielder broke out last season with Bastia in the National, scoring 10 goals and becoming a full Guinea international (he should take part in the coming African Cup of Nations). Promoted to Ligue 2 with his club, he is confirms during this 2011-2012 season, having scored five goals (seven in all competitions) and offered two assists. A rather slender player, he is described as technical and unpredictable.
