Injured againt Lille this Sunday, Valverde suffers with a detached adductor, Toulouse FC officialy announced this Monday. As a result, the goalkeeper will be force to a week of full rest. Valverde, transferred from Boulogne in December 2009, has been the first-choice goalkeeper since several months following the misfortunes of former Le Mans’ goalkeeper Yoann Pelé, who suffers with an acute lung condition.
Without Valverde, Casanova will therefore probably call his young substitute, Marc Vidal (19 y/o). Second to Abdoulaye Diallo during the U19 Euro last summer, Vidal has only been awarded one Ligue 1 start in his young career.
The alternative option is Panama ‘s Luis Meija (also 19), loaned to Toulouse FC since last month, ans still to make his first appearance with the professional team.
